Every Latino family has those members that stand above the rest. They are the ones that are more connected to their Hispanic heritage and wear their respective names with pride.Â
1. El Orgulloso (The Prideful one)
Every family has the “prideful one”. This person is dead serious about being Latino and chooses to tell everyone else that being Latino is the best. They are the ones who often tell you that you “should speak Spanish more” and that your taste in music is to “American”.
2. La que no sabe español (The one who doesn't speak spanish)
They are the newer generation and the ones who haven’t fully mastered the language even though they grew up in a home of Spanish speakers. In some cases they can speak or understand the language but can’t read or write it. They are the ones who often feel left out at family gatherings and relatively stay quite.
3. The Chef
The Chef in the family is a title that usually belongs to mothers or grandmothers. Often referred to as the most important person in the family they are the ones that the whole family loves for their style of cooking. Usually referred to as the weird one for believing in bad luck and superstitious things they often are also the most wise and can give the best advice when you least expect it. They can be very insightful and only want the best for the rest of the family.

She is the one that has all the secrets and knows information about people in or around the family. She will tell you what is up in the lives of cousins or aunts you haven’t spoken to in a while. She has all the information but you didn’t hear it from her.
6. The Ruidoso (The loud ones)
When it comes to family gatherings you can find these family members with ease. They are the loud mouths in the family, they are the ones who have a tendency to scream and speak at a higher volume then the rest of the family for no reason.
7. La Religiosa (The religious)
The religious one it usually tied to the older generation. Grandmothers and fathers who often go to church every Sunday and pray constantly for they kids and grandkids. They believe in the old ways of how things were before and with what they experienced first hand. They often give advice on how to act like how you shouldn’t have sex before marriage and to always follow the word of God.
